CERTIFIED MISTAKE

Being educated is good Yes, it really is. It makes you a better person and brings the best out of you. That is, it makes you useful to yourself, your environment and even the world at large. Education you see is a really beautiful thing, because it reflects in your behavior, thinking, dressing, relationship with your environment, occupation, belief and so much more.

For education to be so dynamic as to reflecting is so much as aforementioned, an idea pricked me that "Education is the Key to Success". 

(I stand to be corrected but please finish reading and try to see things my way) ...

In The World Needs You ... Yes, YOU ! we quoted Les Brown on potentials. Acknowledging nothing makes a man more successful than his inbuilt potentials but for our potentials to manifest we need to be educated on them.

Education is the process of facilitating learning, or the acquisition of knowledge, skills, values, beliefs, and habits. Educational methods include storytelling, discussion, teaching, training, and directed research. Education frequently takes place under the guidance of educators, however learners may also educate themselves.

Education can take place in formal or informal settings and any experience that has a formative effect on the way one thinks, feels, or acts may be considered educational.

We have so many graduates in Nigeria today without jobs, without use for all the knowledge they have acquired, WHY IS THIS ?

I think it is so because these graduates are waiting for the society to make use of them (the graduates) instead of them (graduates) making use of the society; i.e Our society does not develop us, we develop the society. A new friend I met yesterday told me; "We have a lot of mathematician but little or no problem solvers" ...

Nigerian economy is poor, terrible; I totally agree with you but should we just fold our hands as time pass and make a waste of our life ? We can be independent, be useful to our surrounding according to our field of education but NO, we can not because we have acquired the wrong education.

It is one thing to be a Literate (i.e able to read and write) and it is another to have acquired the wrong education. For one to be educated, he or her needs to learn the basics, know how to read and write (i.e become a Literate) thereafter, education comes in.

What we get educated in matters a lot to our success in life. One needs to be educated with respect to his or her drive and interests (inbuilt potentials). 

Get education on what you want to live and die as. Do not be educated on the field that seem to be the selling careers at the moment because doing that is getting absolutely involved in a pattern you have no interest or desire in and when you do not have a society that has use for you, you will be useless to yourself (a failure to yourself).

Education is a process of Facilitating Learning:

The appropriate definition of this is said to be the made easy (i.e facilitating), the transformative process of taking in information relation with inbuilt potentials that when internalized and mixed with your interests, changes what we know and builds on what we do. It’s based on input, process, and reflection. It is what changes us. 

Acquisition of Knowledge, Skills, Values, Beliefs and Habits:

This involves strengthening correct responses and weakening incorrect responses, adding new information to your memory, making sense of the presented material by attending to relevant information, mentally reorganizing it, and connecting it with what you already know.

Lets take this for an example; I find the child in my neighborhood that the parent is always beating up for pulling the pages of his schools and building all sort of figures that seemed interesting to him.

It was okay to discipline him on the ground he was making use of paper (books) hard earn money paid for but have you had a good look at the figures this child makes out of paper ?

CAN YOU AS AN ADULT BE THAT CREATIVE ?

Long story short, educating an individual on things he/she finds interest in would not only lead to the early success or fulfillment in life but it would help make that individual very much ready in time to see how he/she can solve or change the society for the better.

Having passion for doing something is the first, being grounded as in well-educated in your passion is second; thirdly creativity comes in when you enjoy what you do because you are well-educated in what you are passionate about.

PUT ALL THIS TOGETHER AND YOU WILL SEE THAT SUCCESS CAN NOT BE DENIED !!!
