The pandemic spreads primarily through droplets of saliva or discharge from the nose when an infected person coughs or sneezes.
As of March 27, more than 24,000 people worldwide have died of COVID-19 and 538,000 people have tested positive for COVID-19, according to data compiled by Johns Hopkins Univeristy.

The revealed method of infection as stated at the beginning of this article states;
"The pandemic spreads primarily through droplets of saliva or discharge from the nose when an infected person coughs or sneezes."
So, this got me wondering why one would get in contact with the discharges from another person. This will only happen when "either or both parties do not practice good personal hygiene;" and for the spread of the pandemic COVID-19 to be this rapid then, there's a large hygiene ignorant population in the world.
There is really no need to panic. Instead of having a panic about the pandemic, lets be hygiene obsessed. See everything and everyone you come in contact with as unclean; therefore, wash your hands after:
- Having a handshake
- Making cash transactions or credit card transactions
- After handling items
- Using the restroom
- Before and after eating food
- Immediately you get home
Basically see your hands as an extension of the inside of your body system. Good hygiene comes with social distance every time wherever you are.
Be easily irritated and be hygiene obsessed because you do not know the level of cleanliness that is practiced by the person next to you or your surrounding.
I hope you now see that the fear is not the virus but the failure in our hygiene practice. Give a good consideration to the method of getting infected; it is really irritating and you should be disgusted enough to step up hygiene practice better.
To prevent infection and to slow transmission of COVID-19, do the following:
- Wash your hands regularly with soap and water, or clean them with alcohol-based hand rub.
- Maintain at least 1 metre distance between you and people coughing or sneezing.
- Avoid touching your face.
- Cover your mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing.
- Stay home if you feel unwell.
- Refrain from smoking and other activities that weaken the lungs.
- Practice physical distancing by avoiding unnecessary travel and staying away from large groups of people.
Stay hygiene obsessed, stay safe ...
